REFUGE

This project was made in 2007 on a multi-track digital recorder with separate mikes for the vocals and guitar. My Son-in-law, Luke Welch helped with the recording and mixed and mastered the entire CD for which I am very grateful. Most of the songs on this disc were written in the nineties but “Every lonely heart” was written in 2000 and “You are the song” was written in 2005.

On a side note, the song “No tears of sadness” is dedicated to a sweet sister in Christ and one of Cheryl’s close friends (Robin Hamm) that lost a battle with cancer several years ago. She was a mother of four and a devoted follower of Jesus. It is comforting to know that she is safe and secure in His arms and will never be alone and that everyone that has given their lives to Christ can rest in the eternal security of God’s love.

“Somebody was praying” is an inspiration I was given as I thought about my Grandmother. In all the years of visits and phone conversations, she would always remind me that she loved me and was praying for me. I miss her lively and adventurous personality and her laughter and excitement could light up a room. She was always positive and seen the best in others and I look forward to being with her again one day.

I remember writing “Healer of the broken heart” late one night as I was sitting on the edge of the bed just thinking about life. I was feeling discouraged, distant and alone from the world and wondering about my place in the world. I remember crying as I wrote down these words and if you notice they are written as if Jesus is speaking. This song became like a medicine and comforting balm to the deepest part of my soul. It is good to cast our cares on God because He loves us and never grows tired of listening to our thoughts and concerns. God is all around you and knows everything about you – every tiny detail. He knows what has happened and exactly how you feel. He knows your thoughts and sees your tears even in the darkest night. There is VERY good news for you right now. He came to earth to save you, deliver you and heal you. Reach out to Him right now by faith and allow Him to give you the peace and hope you are searching for. Trust Him and ask Him to help you. He promised that He would respond to all who calls upon Him. May this be an encouragement to your soul and I pray that you will give Him a chance Him to heal and comfort you. “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds” Psalm 147:3.
